Over the past couple of days I have been spreading the word about my web site and Terry Wayne Smith around
A lady approached me and asked me about my web site. I told her about Smith and his ties to the Baseline Killer case.
“I’ve tried to contact the media, but they probably think it’s a conspiracy theory or whatever.”
“Well you remember Mark Furhman?”
I instantly thought about the O.J. trial, so she must have seen the puzzled look on my face…
“He solved that murder in
“That’s true.”
I remembered something on that was on CNN, she was right.
“I definitely appreciate what you’re doing."
Her compliments were the fuel I needed. I was pumped.
“That’s bullshit.”
Later on two kids must have seen me putting up flyers. They yelled at me,
“Who’s the killer?”
Followed by the previous line,
“That’s bullshit.”
They kept walking and I just laughed…
I drove by my Dad’s old abortion clinic. I wasn’t planning on stopping, but I wanted to see how the protestors outside would react to my fight against a real killer.
Two women were holding signs and an older man was sitting in a lawn chair.
They smiled as I approached,
”I need your help with something.”
I told them basically the same thing I told the women who thanked me… but I added in,
“And this guy is a real killer.”
“We’re standing outside of a real killer,” was their response.
I tried to tell them more,
“He targets white and Hispanic women. That’s my Mom, my friend.”
They were happy as they chimed in,
“These guys target white and Hispanic women too.”
They were on a roll.
I told them the truth… that my Dad used to run the clinic they were standing outside of.
“I would still appreciate your help… hopefully we can find common ground.”
“Is Dr Feldman in jail?”
The smart ass bitch was wrong… my dad wasn’t a doctor.
“Actually he passed away from Cancer a couple of years ago.”
No response, it didn’t even wipe the smiles off their faces. Most people would say something, even if they didn’t mean it, but they were silent.
For people that value life they seemed a little too happy.
I guess I knew they wouldn’t listen. But I didn’t expect them to respond with anti-abortion rhetoric after everything I said.
And I didn’t expect them to enjoy my Dad’s death.
You can’t be so set on your version of the truth that you refuse to listen when a set of facts are presented to you.
By reaching out to the same people who hounded and taunted my Dad everyday of his 20 years at Planned Parenthood it shows that I’m willing to work with anybody on this issue.
I hope the rest of
I hope people will listen to me.
